Park Features

The Brook Run Dog Park features four wooded acres for off-leash play. We are situated deep in the woods, so the tree canopy offers noticeable protection from the summer heat as well as from mild rains. The park is entirely fenced and features multiple entry points with double-gates for the dogs' safety.

There are walking trails throughout the park so that we humans can get our exercise, too. Walking the path that follows the fence line equals about one-third of a mile per lap.

Amenities include two water stations (dogs only; sorry, no human water fountains) and several pick-up stations providing free waste bags. Be aware that there are NO bathroom facilities for humans at the dog park.

The entire Brook Run facility is open from sunrise to sunset, so those are the hours of the dog park, too. There is just enough lighting to allow evening visitors to exit safely when the sun goes down.

Park Rules

Here are some of the rules that you must follow when you visit the dog park. They are posted on the main entrance gates of the dog park.
For a full list of the rules and regulations, click here.

Your dog must wear a collar, I.D. tags with contact information, and a Rabies Vaccination tag at all times in the park. Puppies who have not yet had their rabies vaccination MAY NOT visit the park.

Dogs must be under control of and supervised by an adult at all times in the park. You may not drop off your dog to play and leave to run errands. Children may not bring dogs to the park without an adult. Aggressive dogs are not allowed.

ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD is allowed inside the dog park. THIS INCLUDES DOG TREATS. Bringing food inside the fence is very dangerous among off-leash dogs. It could result in a fight or you being knocked over if you have food in your pocket.

Smoking is also not allowed inside the park. There are picnic tables outside the gate where eating and smoking are permitted.

PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG! There are several pick-up stations throughout the park. It's not only unsanitary to leave your dog's waste behind, it's illegal!

Remember, this is a dog park, not a childrens' park! Do not let your kids roam in the park unsupervised! Many dogs can be too rough or even aggressive towards children. Furthermore, many dogs will instinctively chase running animals (and that includes small children) and can knock over small children. Children must NOT be allowed to behave in ways that could excite or startle the dogs in the park. Also, do not let children roll logs or turn over rocks, it damages the park environment and they could be bitten by snakes.

Leash Laws

Picture

Please remember that your dog is required by law to be leashed between your car and the gates to the park! If you decide to allow your dog to wander off-leash outside of the fence, you do so at your own risk and could get a ticket for up to $280. Police have been seen roaming around the park on foot and on bicycles recently, so be careful!
